I attempted some abstract images based on pictures of a shapely building. I like how the final product evokes stark contrasts and allows questions. Brutalist architecture is not something I usually admire, but I must say the opportunity for applying some artistic vision is quite satisfying. My motivation is to move from recording reality to evoking feelings and reaching an additional level of seeing. I also thought of how “brute” means “raw” and was never intended to be seen as “brutal”.
